Is getting a METV the best approach for a 3-8 month stay in Thailand?

Hey guys,

I'm planning to stay 3-8 months in Thailand (depending on several things, so need to stay flexible).

Due to this situation, I'm considering to get a METV.

2 months

extend 1 month

(if I want to stay longer):

visa run by air

2 months

extend 1 month

(if I can stay longer):

visa run by air

2 months

Does someone have similar experiences with this? And is this the most logical approach according to you?

I am from Holland and am a Dutch citizen.

Kind regards,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for a flexible stay of 3-8 months in Thailand. They outline a plan to stay for 2 months, extend for 1 month, and if needing more time, perform a visa run to re-enter the country. They seek advice on whether this approach is logical for their situation.
