TLDR : Answer Summary
Applicants for visas in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) report varied waiting times for updates after submission, ranging from 6 to 9 business days. While some received approvals quickly, others are still waiting or faced additional document requests. It's common to experience anxiety during this waiting period, especially with looming travel plans.
I submitted at HCMC 8am Monday (2 days ago) - just had my first round of additional documents requested today. I put my intended entry to Thailand as Monday the 13th to try keep it quick.
I applied as a Freelancer - Requested documents was proof of funds. I initially submitted 6 months of statements on my business account and 1 most recent statement from my savings + 6 months of invoices. Ive now submitted 6 months of statements for my personal, business and savings accounts + 6 months of invoices.
I've seen you experience long wait times from reading your post in this group. Can you please share with me your final experiences? How long in total did you wait and what extra documents did they ask for?
Anonymous participant for hubby took 5 days only excluding weekends..for me due to Xmas and weekends took 9 days but I got it a day after I reentered Thailand luckily given visa exempt for 60 days. So now I need to go out and reenter to activate it..just waiting for hubby to recover dullu from bronchitis which he got during the trip back from CHMC..for.eoca they only asked hubby's most recent bank account balance up to the date that they send the request, nothing else for me as dependent..
congratulations! So your husband applied then a couple days later got asked for additional updated bank statements then he got approved all within 5 business days?
I applied Dec 23. Dec 27 they asked for 6 months of statements (I had already provided them but I took screenshots originally. So when they asked again, I sent complete statements) and I sent them through on the same day. Jan 3 status moved to "pending approval". Jan 6 visa was approved.
NY might have slowed it down possibly...I'm waiting here to buy only applied on Sunday. I probably won't make my flight on Friday back to Thailand. You guys find reasonable accommodation?
