Cancelling student visa extension whilst in Thailand and applying for Non O retirement...
Hi all, sorry for the question but I'm finding the process a little complicated.
I put 800,000 in thai bank account 17th April which will be 2 months seasoned 17th June. My student visa extension of stay expires 1st July.
I was hoping to get termination letter from school and take this to Bangkok immigration on 18th June with appropriate forms/letter from bank etc and apply for Non O without leaving Thailand but I've read that you need at least 15-21 days of current stamp left to do this and I would only have 13 days left.
Am I correct saying that I now need to apply in a neighbouring country at Thai embassy and still get a letter from school confirming cancellation of current education extension, taking this to immigration before I leave the country 🤔.
Also, if i do apply from a neighbouring country, how long does it take to process there or can I just leave Thailand, go to say Ho Chi Minh Thai embassy, apply there and come back within a day or 2?
I have been doing research on this but I just want to be sure I'm understanding it correctly.
