TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for a flight ticket when applying for an E-Visa to Thailand appears to vary based on different experiences shared by users. Some state that a flight ticket is necessary, while others suggest that it may depend on the applicant's country of origin or specific circumstances. Several comments recommend using a dummy ticket as a viable option.

No. Just use a flight number from an airline that matches your dates.
just look at the airline you are planning to use and check the flights that are within the visa I.e can't apply earlier than 3 months in advance. Take a note of the flight number and then put that into your application. You can buy the ticket later
intended date. You can buy tickets after receiving visa, but to know that you are eligable to apply, they ask date. Because date of flights should not be more then in 3 months
