Maybe stupid question but I can find answer in the history of our group here.
If you go to Savannakhet, for an multiple entry, a year visa based on being married to a Thai, does your wife needs to go with you or not?
Secondly, do you make the trip by airplane or with minivan? Can you buy a Lao visa in both cases on arrival?
Seems that Nonthaburi immigration has found a different way to read the rules about how to prove your income. Since 4 country's stopped with handing over affidavits in their Embassies, the now found it necessary to NOT accept any affidavits anymore. They point me out that in the police order, where it says: "PROOF OF INCOME CERTIFICATE BY THE EMBASSY OR CONSULT", that a affidavit is not enough.
I did found out the hard way today.
Many thanks to Robert tough, since he really tried to help me out here.
TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling to Savannakhet for a Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national, your wife does not need to accompany you. You can travel by public transport or by airplane, with various options available for buying a Lao visa on arrival at the land border or potentially at the airport, though specific airport regulations may vary. It's important to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared, including proof of marriage and identification, to facilitate the visa application process.
