A Chinese friend shall visit us and apply for the Thai tourist visa at Chiangmai airport arrival. Is it possible to pay for this visa in USD if the visitor does not have Thai baht?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry is about the possibility of a Chinese friend applying for a Thai tourist visa upon arrival at Chiang Mai airport and whether the visa fee can be paid in USD instead of Thai baht. Comments indicate that the visa on arrival may currently be free for a short duration, leading to some confusion regarding the need for payment and the visa duration.
