Just a question.... this mandate regarding 800,000 in the bank for 3 months, can I send it back to my U.K. Account for 9 months and just leave it in for the 3 months requirement.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement stipulates that the 800,000 baht must remain in a Thai bank account in your name for five months (two months prior and three months after applying for the visa extension). After this period, you may be able to withdraw funds, provided that the balance does not fall below 400,000 baht for the rest of the year.

Nope, that's NOT gonna work :( Just so you're clear, to get a yearly extension the 800K baht needs to be in your thai bank account for FIVE months (2 months before and 3 months after) and then you could move half of it out of you wanted to as long as the balance didn't go below 400K baht the rest of the year

"Did you get your visa BEFORE you came here from a Thai consulate or did you get the visa/extension AFTER you got here at the immigration office ?

The requirements to get a year extension of stay office inside the country from an immigration based on retirement are 800K baht in a Thai bank account for 2 months before you apply for the extension, the money needs to be in the account for 3 months after you get the extension granted and then the balance can't go below 400K baht the rest of the year.

There is NO requirement to show any proof of funds when doing 90 day reporting in most Immigration Offices..."

.....

But some do in the first 90 days from issue of the extension request the bankbook be shown to verify the balance is still at 800,000.

The money needs to be in a Thai bank account in your name only and readily accessible.
