Hi guys,

some posts spread some uncertainty regarding my planned stays in thailand. Following my history and my future plans:

11/18 - 04/19 -- 180day multiple entry

28 days in August 19 -- visa exempt

10/19 - 05/20 - -180 day multiple entry

6 weeks break

07/20 - 08/20 -- visa exempt (extended to 60 days)

6-8 weeks break

180 day multiple entry

How likely is it that this plan would work out for me? Or do i stay here to frequently? I have no history of overstays and a one year rental contract with my girlfriend. But we are not married, yet.

Any ideas appreciated

And that is it. Thailand has Immigration rules, accept them if you want to live in this beautiful country or play the game with immigration and be scared as one mentioned or get the kick out the thrill of being an illegal alien. It is your choice, it is not to expensive to be legal, if it is, this country may not be the place for you. Good luck

Thanks for your help guys. I did o ton of research about my other options. Just don't want to spend a lot of Money for the elite visa as long as i'm not sure if i merry her or not. My stay in August is because of her 30th Birthday, but probably it's better to skip that and come in after some month with a new 180 day visa, right?

we are seeing reports of persons being denied who arrive with METV as their history of many METV and other border runs, extensions ...appear on the Thai Immigration Officer screen upon arrival.

Sadly, there's no established "waiting time" before I can promise 100% entry. The "waiting time" is whatever the Thai government believes is reasonable for a tourist. Most tourists come here for 2 or 3 weeks out of a year, look around, and then leave.

You can stay up to nearly 270days with your multiple entry tourist visa, so maybe you still have a bit of space to modify your plan.

Anyway, better to be prepared to get asked at immigration office anytime soon upon your entry.

I guess you want to check your possible option to stay longer enough other than tourist status (except with Thailand Elite).

I don't have a crystal ball, but I think you'll be cutting it really close, and isn't something I recommend. By your post, you are not here as a tourist.

I am almost certain you'd get the multiple entry tourist visas (I'm assuming from Germany), however, there is a risk immigration would not let you enter because you're here for too long. My advice is this:

1. If you're over 50, get a "retirement" visa. Do a search on this group for more information.

2. Get a job. If you have a degree and a TOEIC of 600 points or more, getting a teaching job should still be easy. If not, then try getting a job in whatever industry you're in.

3. Get an elite visa. They sell them in 5 to 20 year lengths.

4. Go back to school, and get an ED visa. If you're enrolled in a bachelors degree program, you should be able to stay here for 4 years. Using language schools isn't advisable.

But then how did he get the other METVs? I would imagine he's going to Germany to get them, since that's where he is from.

That would probably raise eyebrows. Get married , get the proper visa.

It seems all planned with short time options as the Visa Exempt Entry and Tourist Visa. Are you a genuine tourist or just stretching the time as much as possible to stay inside Thailand but does not like to apply for the visa that fits your activities in Thailand?

You are at risk at any Immigration Checkpoint, have a plan B in place.

I consider myself as a tourist yes, and i'm not working here. I considered all the visas, but at the Moment there's no one that fits well. thanks for your advise

He's stretching his time here. He has a girlfriend who he hasn't married yet.

Doubtful that you will succeed in living in Thailand that long using various visas.

You will be questioned by Thai Immigration..."Why you come many times?"

Be prepared ...

And suggest you get a correct visa for your desired long stay.

Good Luck.
