Hello everyone.

I'm planning on coming to Bangkok in November. Now my question is. Is there a way to get a visa without giving plane ticket number? Cause I'm looking for getting a visa soon but I don't have my ticket yet.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of obtaining a Thai visa without providing a plane ticket depends on the requirements set by the local Thai Embassy or Consulate. If a ticket number is required, it likely must be submitted unless a workaround is found. For Canadian citizens, entering Thailand falls under the Visa Exempt category for stays of up to 30 days, which allows for entry without a pre-ordered visa. However, if applying for a Tourist Visa in Canada, a plane ticket may be necessary.

Looks like you are a Canadian citizen. You can come in Visa Exempt for 30 days and just get stamped in at the airport in Thailand and then you could apply for a 30 day extension for 1900 baht. Or like you said you could get your Tourist Visa in Canada. But if it ask for airplane ticket you most likely need to provide it.

thank you, how easy is it to get an extension? And how long does it take?

If you're in Bangkok you make an appointment to get the extension. Takes around 30 minutes

You can make an appointment at every immigration office. But reports of some (primarily Samui) saying they don't accept appointments even though the show up on the appointment website and you can book an appointment.

Yes I understand, the OP specifically said he was coming to Bangkok, so that's why I indicated he can make an appointment. Bangkok immigration accepts appointments and they prioritise over walk-ins.

the requirements vary from immigration office to immigration office so it's impossible to answer your question exactly. It can take anywhere from 1-6 hours depending on how busy the office is that day.

I've attached a photo with the most common requirements.

But applying for a visa usually takes about 15 days at most to process. You can just wait until you purchase your ticket and apply then.

It's up to your local Thai Embassy/Consulate. If it's on their list of requirements, it likely must be done unless you find a workaround.
