I have a marriage visa and leave Thailand for a visit to my home country. Can I get the re-entry visa at the airport in Bangkok and do I need the marriage cert. Just to clarify as I did not carry it along.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can obtain a re-entry permit at Bangkok airport without your marriage certificate. Multiple comments confirm that the marriage certificate is not necessary for this process. It's recommended to go to the Re-Entry Permit Counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and it may save time to bring a filled TM.8 Form and a passport-sized photo.
Have to say thank you very much to all the very productive contributions and answers to my question. Great pleasure to not get sarcastic answers.

"...
Go to International Departure Gate 2 when going to the Security Check at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Go to the Right at the Bottom of the Escalator after the Security Check
It's the easiest way to find the Re–Entry Permit Counter (they put the name "Re–Entry Visa")
You can bring a filled TM.8 Form to save 5 minutes to fill the form there
You can bring a passport-size Photo to save an extra 200 baht Service Fee

if the Admins/Moderators of another Thai Visa Advice Q&A Facebook Group would permit me to share info about getting a Re–Entry Permit at Suvarnabhumi Airport as Bangkok has 2 airports and the OP didn't specify which airport....
it is, but if a passenger doesn't see anyone there, a Thai Immigration Officer or anyone manning the counter, then go ask another Thai Immigration Officer that you want a Re–Entry Permit and they'll get someone there to get you one....

I find always good practise to take photos of relevant certs just in case of loss or if required. But dont need it for re entry permit
at the airport just hand them your passport. They'll fill in all the documents and make any copies needed including taking your photos. That's why it's an extra 200 baht at the airport
