Good Morning,

I need your advice please, as I could not find the answer to my question. German nationality - will enter Bangkok beginning of December on the 45 days visa exempt. Within those 45 days, I will have to travel back and forth between BKK and Vietnam. Can I receive the re-entry permit for this visa exempt at the BKK airport (single or multiple)?

Thank you very much for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a German national, inquired about obtaining a re-entry permit at Bangkok airport while on a 45-day visa exempt entry, given plans to travel between Bangkok and Vietnam. A comment mentioned that typically, re-entry permits cannot be obtained at the airport for visa exempt entries, but suggested that the user could leave Thailand and re-enter to obtain a new entry stamp as long as they leave before the 45 days expire.

As a rule no you cannot.

BUT

there's no issue in you stamping in, stamping out, leaving, coming back and getting a new entry stamp,

as long as you can show you're leaving before the 45 days is up they shouldn't have a problem issuing you a new 45 day visa exempt entry when you re-enter thailand.

You are out nothing by asking if you can get a re-entry permit when you go to exit the country on your visa exempt entry stamp (it won't add any days to your stay but will stamp you back in until that expiration date) All they can say is no 🙂

for your quick response! I would like to ask one more question. I already have a one 45 days visa exempt in my passport, it ends on the 23rd of November. It would not be a problem, if I come beginning of December (receive the second 45 days visa exempt), fly out a couple of days later and come back again end of December to receive another 45 days visa exempt? I would have a flight out in January. 🙂 Thank you so much again for your time and help, very appreciated.

as long as you have onward travel showing you're leaving within the days you'll be stamped in for you shouldn't have a problem.

BUT

if they think you're living here on those stamps you could,

Have your onward travel that you're leaving so can show it when you fly in.
