My flight to Da Nang is on the 4th of February, but I want to apply in the Hanoi embassy, is there a city nearby I can travel to that falls under Hanoi? Or should I just take a local flight to Hanoi to apply?

You could also book a refundable hotel in Hanoi and send that in as your proof of location. Worked for me. Would be an issue if you get called in for interview but you aren’t in HCMC either
