Hello group I need your advice please.

I am currently a student and I found an internship for 4 months in Thailand. I have to get my ED visa to be able to do it.

The company that accepted me as an intern told me that the ED visa is valid for 3 months, and that after that I just have to leave the country and come back to automatically have 30 more days as a tourist.

However I find this method very shady. What are the risks of doing this? Is this normal? Isn't the company supposed to "accompany" me in the renewal of the visa? Thank you for your advice.
