How do you guys take SIM in Thailand? Is it straightforward, what documents they ask? Since I am planning to stay long-term (DTV) or at least visit time to time so visitor's SIM is not an option and I want to get a full local SIM. Where to get the SIM, at the airport or from city center for better rates? For the network, AIS is the best I guess?

Hi, not visa related but I will give it a go. So need to get a new UK sim but am in Thailand atm. Current sim will apparently not work after 3 months (told by EE day before i flew here). What I thought was to ask friends in UK to send Lyca mobile sim here but just googled and must activate in UK first. Any idea's what I can do. I only need sim for accessing some bank accounts. Looking for some advice.

Retireing in Thailand later in the year.

I have had the same UK works phone number for over 30 years, and use it for everything.

Obviously this uk sim will have to be returned.

I will then have to get a new uk sim and change my mobile phone number on all my uk accounts ect.

I realise I will have to get a Thai number when I move for Thai bank reasons.

Do I have to keep swapping between uk and Thai sims, maybe have 2 phones. Or will uk banks ect accept a Thai number ?

Just looking for a simple and cheap solution.
