not visa related but I think interesting, so in the long process of cancelling my life in England for my move to Thailand on the 1st of December, you know it's easily to start something, 5 mins online and your a new member but trying to cancel or change your address is a different matter, I have two private pensions so went online to change address not so straight forward as I thought , they need evidence of my new address but what they are asking for is all westernised paper work, gas bill council tax bill, etc, so I phoned up and said the only thing I can send your is a copy of my tm30 from imagination and maybe a bank letter, would be interested how you got over this problem,
Hi when applying for the Thai- marriage visa stamp when is your evidence required marriage cert & Partners details & banking plus your pension payments plus the 4oo,ooo bht etc,is this done before on Thai embassy app or is it applied for just before your 60 days are completed after you have opened the Thai Bank Account.Reason for Question is im confused as you cant open a bank account unless you have the Visa .
Ive been sending the 65KTHB was required monthly (from US) in order to get the 800K bunked back after the first year - which cycles around mid-January 2025.
It sure seems like many people have written to be incoming the same day every month or very close (and once it was 5 days from that) or very likely rejected - ie I wouldn’t be able to drop the requirement of keeping 800K after a year - is that true?
Also that they want to see it as looking like a pension amount - regularly deposited and sent out - and sometimes I put it in in several deposits the same day (like 35K + 10K + 20K) simply because Wise wouldn’t allow the whole 65K to go through at once except several days later.
So that also makes me wonder about the likelihood of them making me keep the 800K in another year
Hi, I’ll be coming to live in Thailand soon as I’m retired and from the uk, what is everyone doing about a bank account as I need a uk account for my pensions to be payed in to but I won’t have a uk address?
Just an Australian expat question, the Centrelink will pay my pension directly into my Bangkok bank account, do they(Centrelink) get good exchange rates or should I just transfer it myself through a private transfer system, Cheers for any answers.
My pension is paid from the UK into my Kasikorn bank account but does not show up as a foreign transaction. Kasikorn advise me that to get proof of such I need a credit advice. If I want this to cover the last 12 months (to satisfy immigration) I must arrange it with the credit adviser in my local branch.
The process will take "around" 5 working days and cost 500 baht. I am not sure whether this is instead of or in addition to the 100 baht letter I have been getting every year up to now. Passport and bank book needed to get credit advice.
