Hey guys, I'm coming from Poland to Thailand on 1st Dec and I wanted to stay more than 3months.. I have some questions about visa options.. Is there anyone who could advise me on what are the options?

I've heard I can get tourist visa from my country and if I need to proof return ticket I can reserve it (or buy?) and cancel? - from which airline and how does it work?

Also how many times can I just get a stamp (land or air crossing border) and how many times (can I combine ?) can I just pay 1900B a month to get it?

I've heard working visa is very hard to get so maybe student visa...? Sign up to any school?

I'm only asking because I'm going for the trip of my life not just a holidays! And I wanted to see as much as possible and also do voluntary work in yoga /meditation retreats etc. And I really don't think 3months will be enough. 🙏🏻✨❤️

Please advise me from your own experience or send me to the source of the information if you have any.

I need specific info so I can get ready for my travel.

Thank you so much for any tips and have an amazing day ❤️🙏🏻✨

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on visa options for an extended stay in Thailand beyond three months, as they plan to travel from Poland on December 1st. They are considering a tourist visa and are interested in specifics regarding the process, including proof of return tickets, multiple entries, and alternatives like a student or working visa for voluntary work in yoga retreats.

Dostałaś te same odpowiedzi co na polskiej grupie.

Pytanie, po co pytasz na grupach o coś, co możesz uzyskać na stronie:

i tam wybrać kraj, z którego chcesz aplikować i voila!

Less hassle, more direct knowledge, isn't? :)

Okay, I'd personally scratch the "I wanna volunteer for this and do that" off the list until you actually GET here and see what's what okay?

The ONLY visa that will give you the time you want is a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa.

If you can't meet the requirements to get that visa you should at least get a single entry tourist visa. That would stamp you in for 60 days when you arrive.

Here are the requirements for tourist visa from the thai consulate in Warsaw

I thought you automatically get 30 days if your country participates in visa waivers for tourist and if you want to stay 60 days you have to pay for an extension? That's what I did in April.

how do you read financial requirements for tourist visa :

- to present bank statements for last 3 months and balance during this period should be not less than 1000USD(
*****
PLN) at any moment of time

OR

- to present bank statements for last 3 months and balance as on today should be not less than 1000USD(
*****
PLN)?

Thanks)

You can stay in Thailand for more than 3 months with Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV). You can check Thailand Embassy in your country for requirements. No work allowed with that visa.

requirements for METV are much wider than just tickets =)

I think that's the one I need to prove return ticket.. Hmm I'll check that option. Thanks ❤️

Also, only visas based on work (Non-immigrant type B) and based on marriage to a Thai person (Non-immigrant type O) can allow you to officially work inside country. You will also need Work Permit from the Labour Department of Thailand

The "which airline?" part of your question doesn't lie in the remit of this group.

If you're going to volunteer, you'll need a work permit of some sort.

I'm sure that our resident experts will fill you in with visa options shortly.

Just so you know guys: there are Thai embassies, like the one in Romania, that do require a return plane ticket back to home country. I was flat out denied visa application last year because of this; having an "onward" ticket to Vietnam was not acceptable. So I opted for Kuala Lumpur Thai embassy because of the visa exemption rules for romanians (in Malaysia) and lack of proof of funds at that embassy.

Don't know the rules of Poland embassy regarding flights, but it seems that is the same.

I saw suggestions of METV visa on other comments; very good option for more that 60 days. Keep in mind: METV are issued only in home countries, afaik.

Best of luck!

It's worth remembering that you don't need a "return" ticket back home ... you need an "onward" ticket. Think in terms of the cheapest flight to a neighbouring country that you can cancel or just lose at small cost.

I'm only asking all of the questions that won't let me sleep haha so I was just wondering about that book /cancel option because I haven't heard that before and I don't want to pay thousands for the return tickets without an option to cancel it :( so I'm just collecting all possible information 🙏🏻❤️
