TLDR : Answer Summary
A Brit is filling out an e-visa and is uncertain about what to upload for question 8 regarding a confirmation letter from an employer or other source. Responses suggested that the required document depends on the visa type. For a tourist visa, a statement saying 'Not applicable' might suffice. If employed, a letter from the employer with wage details is suggested, while retirees would provide pension statements.

Just put this in that question

Depends if you have a job (then employer statement and probably two recent months of apart specification, if you are retired then year overview of your pension, if you are student….). Not that hard to answer

Which visa are you applying for? That will make a difference into what you put for that question.

If you are applying for a single entry tourist visa, you can just upload something that says "Not applicable" and move past it. The same visa forms are used for many different kinds of visas, so they made every question required.
