TLDR : Answer Summary
A user experienced their antivirus blocking the Thai E-Visa website while in the UK. Comments point out potential issues with the site's security certificate, with some suggesting to proceed with caution and accept risks temporarily. The site was reported to be under maintenance, with subsequent updates confirming that it was functioning properly later.

It's working now, looks like their certificate is updated

Well then simply disconnect from the antivirus for long enough to get the task completed. If you are not confident the site is safe, don’t use it.

Any update could be better than the joke that this website currently is. They just reject application for the most ridiculous reasons and there is nothing you can do about it!

I am not happy inputting personal and financial details (passport, bank statements, photos, credit card etc.) into what could be a (temporarily) insecure site. We know that in this age of hacks and scams Thai websites can have lax security protocols and haphazard maintenance. I now get a message that the site is undergoing an update and fix, so I will apply for my visa tomorrow.

unless you are a real secret agent, you can turn off the VPN long enough to get the job done.

They let their certificate expire or there is some other issue with it.

They'll probably have it resolved some time this week.

that from an infrastructure administrative point of view is pathetic.

They can replace the cert in minutes, certificate authorities send expiration notices well in advance. Gawd! Sorry for the rant. 🤮
