Hi all,
Update from Ban Phu Nam Ron border Thai/Myanmar, Kanchanaburi.
Used yesterday for my 90days with my multi entry non o visa.
Nothing has changed, the cost for crossing the border, get the van into Myanmar and getting back into Thailand is 960thb.
Compare to last time(about 1year ago), this system is a bit less organised, It was quite confusing to understand which van I could get on.
The border is quite, and the entire process took me about 1hr.
Officers were friendly as usual, I haven't been asked for any form of proof, but I had the 20k for safety with me.
.
The drive from Bkk is about 3hrs and the road is in perfect conditions all the way.
Pls delete if not useful.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent update from the Ban Phu Nam Ron border between Thailand and Myanmar indicates that there have been no changes to the crossing process for NON-O visa holders. The cost remains at 960 THB, though the system appears to be less organized compared to the previous year, causing some confusion with van services. The crossing was completed in about one hour, with friendly officers and no requests for additional proof of funds, although carrying 20,000 THB is advised. Note that South African passport holders cannot use this border.
