Bangkok requires you to apply for a 30days tourism extension first for you to be able to apply for a 60days Covid extension. But you can try to ask for a 60days Covid extension. The worst thing would be they say no and let you apply for a 30days tourism extension.

so your on a 30 day visa exempt and didn't apply for a 60 day visa before entitling correct ? If 30 then you go to MTT if in Bkk and get a 30 day extension.
