TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their frustrating experience trying to open a bank account in Thailand with their Thai wife. They provided all necessary documents, including their marriage certificate and salary slip, but faced delays from the bank staff, who insisted on speaking to the wife for more information, despite the address being listed on the marriage certificate. This has led to feelings of shock and confusion over the process, with many commenters suggesting that the bank’s actions stem from efforts to prevent fraud rather than genuine verification. Other users share similar experiences, highlighting a trend of lengthy and complicated procedures at certain banks in Thailand.
