DTV Workcation - Vientiane – APPROVED
German Citizen, no agency used
Timeline:
* 25.07.2026: Submitted, status "Pending Payment"
* 27.07.2026: Paid the fee at the embassy at around 10 a.m. (No appointment needed. Bring sunscreen or an umbrella; waited about 1 hour outside in line)
* Status switched from "Pending Payment" to "Pending Document Check"
* 29.07.2026: Requested further documents: "Please show the main screen of your banking app showing your name with current balance and ATM card"
* Submitted on the same day, status switched to "Pending Document Check" again
* 30.07.2026: Status switched from "Pending Document Check" to "Pending Approval"
* 01.08.2026: Status switched to "Requested Interview" (yes, got the date for the interview on a Saturday!)
* 07.08.2026: Interview 10 a.m., approved around 5 p.m. (Nice and friendly interview, but I had to show my work and explain what I do. I had my laptop with me, showed programs, emails, etc. But they never mentioned it in advance. I guess people who appear without a laptop at the interview will have a problem)

If you want to save money, just take your time and do it yourself. There is enough helpful information in this group and also really helpful templates. Prepare all the documents well and everything will be fine. At least I am really happy that I proved to myself that I could do it alone. Already back in Thailand via land border.
