Is it true that transferring the 800,000 baht for non o retirement visa is now not an option using wise transfer due to the app no longer allowing users show funds as ( for retirement )

Should would be retiree's use the swift transfer service UK bank to Thailand bank alternatively

Thoughts on this would be great
Answer summary
The discussion addresses the recent changes regarding the use of Wise transfer for meeting the 800,000 baht requirement for the Non-O retirement visa in Thailand. It clarifies that Wise can still be used, provided that the correct reason for the transfer is selected, such as "funds for long stay." Alternatives like SWIFT transfers from UK banks to Thai banks are also suggested, though potentially at a higher cost. Several comments emphasize that proof of funds coming from abroad may not be necessary if certain conditions are met during the visa application process.

Where you would have to prove the funds came from abroad were if you were trying to move to the 65k monthly method and would have to prove each monthly transfer came from abroad. As you have been told, Wise have a clear workaround for this when you are submitting the payment although Swift is also an option but a little more expensive usually. Remitly, Revolut etc. also likely more cost effective options.

If your transfers with Wise are not showing up as International Transfers despite selecting "funds for long stay", wise has a section on this guide covering the topic on how to solve that and get proof of international transfer.

In case you ENTERED Thailand on the 90-days Non-Im-O Retirement Visa, for the application to the 1-year Extension of (the) Temporary Stay Permit based on Retirement/ being over 50" on Immigration in Thailand, you do not have to prove that the deposit came from abroad . . . . . .This proof is only required if you did a touristic entry and apply on Immigration for the "change of visa type" to the initial 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa. In this case you must prove that you already have a Thai bank account with 800,000 THB already sitting in it, and in this case you must show that the deposit came from abroad. WISE offers a menu in which you can select an option that will show that you remitted the money from abroad

OP
Nongnuch Kamdee arriving into Thailand with the non o 90 day visa does require you to show that the 800,000 baht came from outside of Thailand once you have opened a Thailand Bank account

Paul Jones is what I said. . .however, some Immigrations ask for it, direct you to an agent to "solve the problem" . . . tea money

Paul James and furthermore, in case you REALLY need that for your ROGUE Immigration, WISE offers to show FET. . . . . Check out the WISE website. They offer away around, so your remittance is coded as FET coming from abroad in your Thai bank passbook . . .

Paul James There is NO SUCH REQUIREMENT because you already showed these 800,000 THB equivalent in your home bank account when you applied for the 90-days Non-O Visa. That's why Immigration does NOT require you to prove that you took the money with you, or that you transferred it.

Paul James NO it does NOT. There is NO SUCH REQUIREMENT. If your Immigration is asking this from you, then SADLY they are a ROGUE Immigration that wants you to use an agent so they earn their backhander bribes.

UK bank to Thai bank is ok, a slightly hire fee but the same exchange rates. Send it in Sterling and convert to Baht in Thailand
