TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration office will be open on May 2nd, as Labour Day is not considered a government holiday in Thailand. However, it will be closed on May 4th, 13th, and 16th.

Yes. Although it’s Labour Day it is not a government holiday. Immigration offices will be closed on the 4th, 13th and 16th of May.

And do You know, by the chance, if I can get Covid visa in Bangkok in the same day? In Chang may office they told me it will take 15 days but in Bangkok it is possible

Most offices issue a “under consideration” stamp for anywhere between 5-30 days where you go back and get the rest of the days stamp on the day stated.

IT Square (counter K) - if you entered visa exempt - gave someone who posted 2 days ago a 30 day U/C stamp.

I am not aware of what Chaengwattana are issuing these days. It seems to flip and flop.

I believe your receptionist was given incorrect information. Labour day is for labours, not government workers. If you try to book an appointment at Chaengwattana immigration on the 2nd you can. If you try for the 4th, 13th or 16th you can’t.
