TLDR : Answer Summary
The border crossing from Mae Sai, Thailand to Tachileik, Myanmar is currently not open for foreigners, regardless of visa status. Other border options like Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong to Laos are available for day trips.

Chiang Saen (via ferry) and Chiang Khong to Laos are both open. A bit further and out of the way but possible to do in one day. When I went to Chiang Khong last month they kept asking me if I just wanted to go back to Thailand to do a border bounce but I actually wanted to go to Laos!

With or without a visa, borders with Myanmar in the north are not open for foreigners.

Keep watching the local news.

This group usually doesn't approve of this type of post about where you can do border bounces. Maybe once in a while to let you know the current situation as so many attempt posts.

This information is still current.
