I was given 3 options to ship a box to U.S. I picked the middle (not the expensive option and not the cheapest) which had the words "post air". Today is the 4th. Is this typical for my box to sit in Bangkok all week? Or does this mean it left Bangkok? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the typical shipping time for a package sent from Bangkok to the U.S. using a "post air" option, noting that the box has been in Bangkok for a week. Community comments indicate that delays could be due to customs processing, variable shipping times based on package contents, and the possibility that the package may have already left Bangkok but is awaiting updates in the tracking system.
Parcel By Air takes around 1 month to arrive, and yes, it means long processing time at every processing center, as they consolidate shipments by routes and send them out, say, weekly. Also, events are often entered retrospectively, i.e. may be parcel had left already on Friday, and it will be entered on Monday in a sysrem.
Net time of movement by air is quite short, but usually going through few hubs with processing time in each of it.
Over the land parcels take ca.2 months to arrive - in contrast.
