Is a 60-day tourist visa still available for Thailand, and do visa holders need to fill in the TDAC form?

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹

Considering that Thailand is now going back to allowing only 30 days for visa-free entries, will it be possible to get a tourist visa for 60 days, as was the case before? (I have not been to Thailand since 2020, and I always used to travel on 60-day tourist visas.)

And for those who hold a visa: do they still have to fill in that online form (DTAC or smth like that)?... I had a notion that form is only for people arriving without a visa, but again.... I have not been to Thailand since 2020.

Thank you ๐Ÿ™
Answer summary
With the recent changes, travelers can still apply for a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand online, similar to before. All travelers, regardless of visa status, are required to fill out the TDAC form prior to arrival in Thailand. Essential to note is that the TDAC is a digital entry record and is not related to visa length or approval.

Just returned to US after 90 days there. Did the online 60 tourist visa withb

30 day extention. It can be done, you might be asked to provide proof of airfare to another country in lieu of extention. Also $7k proof of funds per person for 2 monthd

Leif Findsen Schou you paid for a TDAC or a tourist visa? If TDAC, you went to a scam website as it is free on the real government website. If a tourist visa, the real government evisa website lets you check the status of your application. It would never just disappear into a void.

Pui Suu ! The start thema was visas, this is what I commented!

Leif Findsen Schou then you didn't answer the second part of my comment. You can check the evisa application result on the government website. So not sure what you mean by you saying you never heard from them.

Can you buy a re-entry stamp at the airport/immigration for the single entry tourist visa if you want to leave the country .

Possibly but not practical. Some officers would not even sell it to someone with a tourist visa. It doesn't even make sense in most cases.

I usually visit family in thailand 2 or 3 times a year . Statements attributed to the minister suggest that full use of visa exempt with extension would only be permitted twice per year . I guess I will have to do two visa exempt trips and one with a sixty day visa.

My wife (a Thai dual citizen) and I are semi retired and self employed. We usually work 3-4 months and then head to Thailand for 6 weeks.

What family is it you are visiting? Are you married to a Thai? Just get a non-O when you want to travel. Then you don't have to worry about any of it, and won't run into any issues getting re-entry permits with a non-immigrant status either.

He never mentioned going away for a few days before my reply. He said "I usually visit family in Thailand 2 or 3 times a year" which means that a re-entry permit wouldn't make any difference.

I'm not sure you understand how it works. Of course a re-entry permit would work for him if you wanted to just go away for a few days during his 60 days stamp in.

I have the option of a multiple entry tourist visa or a single entry visa . Previously , when traveling visa exempt , we might break up the trip with a few days in Singapore , or elsewhere. This is not an option on a single entry tourist visa.

Previously I would travel visa exempt , but under the new rules , if I want to travel 3 or 4 four times a year , I will need to get at least one visa through the embassy/portal before departure. I'm just trying to work out the best option for me.

I'm not sure you understand what a re-entry permit is if you think a re-entry permit with a tourist visa would help you at all.

take care, the 60-days single entry tourist visa application requires a small financial proof

Greg Alexander technically so does visa exempt entry. Any tourist needs to be able to prove they can support their stay

Haydn Taela yeah, but they are not allowed to show three months of bank account statements IF they get asked when doing a visa-exempt entry. They would have to show 20,000 THB or the equivalent in another currency in CASH, and only in cash. IF they get asked, which rarely happens. Only when an Immigration officers has already secretly decided to deny entry, out of whatever reason, they start to ask for the proof of funds in cash

TDAC is nothing to do with your visa, its a digital record of your entry to the country, no matter which visa you have, it applied to all non Thai passport holders

You can apply for a 60 day tourist visa online.

All foreigners regardless of visa or not need to fill out a TDAC up to 72 hours prior to arrival.
