I have applied to the Washington DC Thai Embassy for a non immigrant O visa. I am over 50 and provided the require documents - passport photo, 2x2 photo, driver's license, letter's from my teaching pension - my social security pension - and my military pension - all stating my lifetime monthly award amount, and 3 months bank statements showing the deposit of my three monthly pension checks. My question: How long will it be before I will receive my visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing time for your Non-O visa at the Thai Embassy in Washington DC can vary significantly based on several factors, including embassy workload and document completeness. Some responses indicate timelines ranging from 9 days to several weeks, and it's advisable to follow up with the embassy directly if you have concerns about your application status. Keep in mind that the U.S. applicants typically need to consider financial documentation requirements, such as maintaining an equivalent of 800,000 Thai Baht.

“How long is a piece of string? Processing times really depend on which embassy is handling your application. Different embassies have different workloads and timelines, so there isn’t one standard answer.”
I have a question regarding opening of the Thai bank account. Everyone always say's arrive and immediately get a letter of residency and open the bank account. Don't you need a 12-month lease and the associated house book and whatever to get a residency permit. Everyone seems to be stating (by omission, you can get the residency with a hotel address?
I applied to DC Embassy on Jan 5th. It took 9 calendar days. Only issue you may have is your financial documents - every post re: US applicants states that the equivalent of 800k baht bank balance is the only acceptable option for initial Non-O since US Embassies won't provide the letter needed for monthly income.
I hope you also have your 800,000 Thb (about 26k usd) ready to send to your Thai bank.
I am guessing you plan to land and immediately get residency letter from local immigration office so you can then hunt for Thai bank to open your account so you can deposit your 800k Thb to season for two months and then sort out your first one year extension of stay permit. Be sure to time your 12 monthly 65k Thb international deposits so that you can switch to that method if you choose to do so.
I recently did the same with the NYC embassy. Took 10 weeks. I was already in Thailand when it was approved so I had to depart and re-enter to get my stamp
Author Byron Gaskins I was just trying to direct the op to the answer he was looking for. As to the criminal record check, I think that only applies to Non OA, but please ask advice about this from one of the experts here.
My experience applying 3 times for diff visas (over 10 years, 2 x in LA, once in NY) is that 1) updates in the system are binary and not helpful, 2) if docs are lacking, you’ll get a quick message to remedy, 3) you’ll get your visa a day or 2 before your planned trip. Not earlier.
