TLDR : Answer Summary
A Thai national traveling with a foreigner from Phuket to Bangkok currently does not need a fresh COVID test, as there are no restrictions reported for entering Bangkok. However, it's important to be aware of checkpoints along the route, particularly when traveling through red zones. Travelers should also note that Phuket is closed for entry and exit until mid-August, and checkpoints exist in areas like Sarasin Bridge and Phang Nga.

So I'm past chumphon. Stop and show papers at Sarasin Bridge. Then another checkpoint about 15 minutes later in Phang nga
ridiculous. Heading north of course. Not so bad if you have a flight in bkk to catch and a fresh covid test. Alot of road work so give yourself time for the drive. I am taking 2 days for the trip and found a very nice resort on the beach between Chumphon and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
