Hi, we are looking to relocate. Can anyone advise what kind of visa you had to produce to collect your shipment of household stuff from customs? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the type of visa required to collect their household goods from customs in Thailand. A commenter shared their experience, stating that they were only asked for ID and not required to present a visa.
3 big boxes, they wanted tax duty for my scuba dive suit. I said okay, it is to thick anyway because the water is to warm here, so I give it as a present to you. Ended up with a tax payment of 500 Thb for more than 100 CD's and the rest was free.
thank you for taking the time to reply. out of interest how many boxes did you bring and did you have to pay much tax duty

No, it was not a container. Did not have enough goods with memories to bring over. Just a few boxes. Lets wait till others with experience reply.

did you ship a container? im reading some places that you need a work permit, other places that a retirement 1 year visa is sufficient and then that the retirement has to be over a year old. i have emailed customs to ask and have tried the embassy but so far nothing back and its getting quite important to know
