What is the process for changing a non-O Visa to a guardian visa and obtaining a non-ED Visa for children in Thailand?
Hello,
I live in Bangkok and I currently have non-O Visa from BOI and I will have to change to get guardian visa (and non-ED for my kids).
I think unfortunaltely there is no way to do it in Thailand?
Please could you recommend the easiest / fastest place to go to get the non-ED Visa? (as it's very hard to make our kids miss school for long (16 yo))

If you have a non-O why are you converting it to get a guardian one? Do you no longer qualify for the one you have when we first arrived? I got a non-O retirement rather than guardian because I did not have authenticated birth certificates. The school provided the paperwork to convert to the ED visa, and it was far easier to get that appointment and the queue moved far faster than when we went to get the one year extension.

Have you asked the school if they support conversion from tourist to non-ED inside of Thailand? If they do you can just leave and return immediately to reset status and then take care of it in Thailand.
If not, Laos is the fastest place. You would want to go maybe late Sunday. Then you apply online as soon as you're in Laos and go first thing Monday morning to pay for the application. Then it would be 2-3 days to receive the visa.
