Is there a minimum age for a Thai to open a bank account ? Want to give daughter a allowance that only she can access .
Edit: Does it have to be a Thai parent that gives permission under 15 ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, the minimum age for a child to open a bank account is generally 15 years old, though some banks like Kasikorn allow children as young as 12 to have certain banking facilities. Parents can open accounts for younger children (some even as young as 7 years old) with their permission and responsibility. To open an account for a child, a Thai ID or passport is required for both the child and the parent. Children are typically not allowed full access to banking services such as mobile banking until they reach a certain age.
You can open an account for a child at Govt. Savings Bank

As soon as they have an ID card (7) they can open an account. Any parent can go with them. I went with my children to open their's. The bank did call someone (I think a helpline for them) and it was no problem. They can't have an atm card until they are 12

12 years for Kasikorn. It's about the first thing mentioned in their T&Cs.

My kids opened their accounts at 10-11 years old but they're not allowed to have mobile banking until 12
I don't know how your experience was but with adults, definitely different requirements. Also each bank has different kinds of youth saving accounts offering
sorry, I got it wrong. I opened it in person in the bank together with my Thai wife.

I think its 15, but a parent can open an account on behalf of a child under that age, but the parent is responsible. I'm not sure if the child can use all the facilities, like debit card, probably not.
