Hello everyone, I have a DTV visa, but it's linked to my husband's. His DTV visa is for medical treatment. My husband lives in Vietnam, and I live in Thailand. I'm unemployed. I'd like to travel to Laos soon with my motorcycle, but I've recently noticed stricter controls at the land borders. I'll be able to leave the country without any problems, but I'm worried about returning. What documents will I be asked for? As I mentioned, the DTV visa holder is the primary holder, and I'm simply accompanying him. Will I be checked and questioned upon my return? I don't intend to make a short trip; I want to stay in Laos for a month, and I'll have my motorcycle with me. Could you give me some concrete answers? I have documents such as a one-year rental agreement, and I can also present my bank statement, but I don't have any other supporting documents. Thank you in advance for your replies.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about traveling from Thailand to Laos and back while on a DTV visa linked to her husband, who is undergoing medical treatment in Vietnam. She seeks clarity on the documents required for her return to Thailand, especially given stricter border controls and her intention to stay in Laos for a month. Comments suggest that while possible questions may arise regarding her marriage and her husband's DTV validity, most likely she won't face significant scrutiny if she presents her rental agreement and bank statement, although road travel with her motorcycle may pose more challenges.
Have you explored the requirements to get a Thai motorcycle into Laos? Virtually impossible to get a scooter across the border, 250cc and up, and you'll need a Laos tour agent to facilitate the paperwork.
I guess they can ask why you don't travel with your husband? Maybe even want to check your still married, that his dtv is still valid. But most likely to be asked nothing
