TLDR : Answer Summary
The current seasoning requirement for the 800k baht in a bank account for Thailand's retirement visa application appears to have confusion. Some users mention that it should be maintained in the account for two months prior to the application and three months afterward, with a minimum balance of 400k baht going forward. However, a lawyer has indicated that the new rule may state a four-month seasoning period, leading to a debate on the accuracy of this information.

here's the text from the change of extension rule

And as adamant as your lawyer may be what I can say is he doesn't know his ass from his elbow about getting a yearly extension of stay based on being over 50 using banked money.

It is exactly what

quoted (y) ;

the money must be in your account for 2 months prior to you applying for your extension, it must stay in the account for 3 months AFTER you get your extension and then the balance cannot drop below 400K baht the rest of the year.

1 Ignore lawyers. They are agents by a different name.

2. To my knowledge, it is two months for the seasoning requirements. However, what immigration office are you using?

2 months before and 3 months after. After that not below 400k.
