Hello, does anyone know what days and times I can find the DTV officer in Chiang Mai immigration?
Summary so far
The inquiry about the availability of a DTV officer at the Chiang Mai immigration office has sparked confusion, as several comments question the existence of such an officer. Some users suggest the officer is elusive and may recommend doing a border run instead of seeking an extension directly from the DTV officer. Recommendations include bringing a reputable Thai individual to assist in communications with immigration staff.

The key is to take a Thai person of repute with you. School teachers are most effective. Ask them to telephone beforehand upon your behalf. A tip will then make the impossible possible.
I don’t think there is such thing as a DTV officer… If you’re looking to extend your DTV in Thailand, I read that most officers actually tell you to do border run instead, because it’s cheaper and saves a lot of paperwork.
DTV_BegPecker At the immigration office in Chiang Mai, there is one officer responsible for DTV extensions. Most DTV holders get told to come back to see him the next day, or after 2pm, etc. It’s difficult to get the extension in general, but it’s almost as difficult just to talk to the officer who will just tell you it’s better to do the border bounce.
