TLDR : Answer Summary
When doing your 90-day report at MTTN for the first time, it's advisable to arrive early. While they open at 8:30 AM, some individuals recommend arriving as early as 6 AM to avoid long queues. Reports from other expats suggest that the process typically takes around 30 minutes once you're at the desk, but Mondays and Fridays tend to be the busiest days, so you might consider going on a different day. Additionally, getting to the MTTN office can be tricky; it's inside the Central Investigation Bureau compound, which is located behind Impact Arena. It's recommended to have clear directions and possibly a photo of the building to assist taxi drivers.

you really want to go to the กองบัญชาการตำรวจสอบสวนกลาง (บช.ก.) Central Investigation Bureau. <- The immigration building is inside their compound.. AND thaiz in that area know exactly where it is., it's BEHIND impact arena..

here's the stick pin where the Immigration office is

One way to help drivers is to say, using Thai for "behind," the following: Lang (rhymes with tongue) Impact." (Impact is a huge complex that any driver should know and will be on your map.) Then perhaps a Google street view of MTT should do the trick as you get close.

Telling the driver to go to Impact was easy. It is that last bit that was confusing to the driver and of course he doesn’t follow a map app. It helps to have a photo of the MTT building. I asked my wife to go with me since it was the first time. I am glad I did. I wouldn’t have go at all except that the online website failed me this time.

I went last Friday for the first time. I got there at about 10am. It took about 30 minutes. Getting there was a chore. Had to use Google maps to help the taxi find it as well as as a street food vendor. Note that there is no food at MTT. There are some nice restaurants a longish walk away. We found them by asking a motorbike taxi driver.

they open at 8:30, I know people who go there at 6 to line up. Go when ever you want to. It's gonna take you as long as it takes.

You're the one who has to go in person for forgetting to file on time right? I'd say don't even bother going today. Mondays and Fridays are the busiest. Go tomorrow, it's not like the fine is gonna be more if you wait another day. It'll still be the 2000baht

Usually takes 5 mins once you reach your queue number so its up to you
