Super odd topic, but I'm struggling with the worst of two Thai bad habits. Either people don't know how to help and insist it can't be done, or they don't know how to help but insist they can anyway in hopes of getting a piece of the pie.

Anyway I want to have some jackets made. I figure there are a billion garment shops in Thailand, but I don't know how to get in contact.

Anyone happen to know somebody?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking assistance in locating garment shops or tailors in Thailand to have jackets made. Comments suggest specific locations, such as Krung Thonburi for leather jackets and tailor shops in Chareon Krung Soi 57 for other fabrics. A recommendation is made to seek help from locals for better access to fabric factories.

If you walk in any tourist area in Thailand, you needn’t worry any more, the tailors will find you.

Do you belong to any of the Chiang Mai groups? I believe I read a similar question and answer in the past week or so. You can use the magnifying glass to search for Tailor or factory.

I might be in some motorcycle ones. The problem I'm having is the obvious road- talk to a tailor- isn't working. That is why I was hoping to use the network to get to someone who runs a factory.

Og the jackets are leather then Krung Thonburi soi 1 is the leather district. If you are looking for fabric jackets (wool, cotton etc) then the tailor shops are the ones to avoid as they act as the middle men. They send your order off to the factories who do the manufacturing. They aren't so much on Google. But they are hidden in plain sight. If you are around Sathorn there are a few shops that make all the uniforms for the police etc and they are located at chareon Krung soi 57. You have to go into the side alley to find them. It's best if you have a Thai friend help you to find the fabric factories.
