If you miss one month of international money transfer of say a partial month by a few days does that disquailify you from the 65,000b per month requirement?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The rules stipulate a minimum transfer of 65,000 baht each month for the preceding 12 months before applying for a yearly extension. Missing a month, even by a few days, may disqualify you based on strict interpretation of the law. However, delays due to banking holidays or weekends may complicate this assessment, so it's advisable to check with your immigration office for clarification.

Interesting posts above. My monthly transfers from UK government go via Citi bank and normally hit my SCB on 30th. BUT due to weekends and holidays the payment can be delayed by up to 4 days, particularly over new year eg, my 30 Dec 18 payment hit my bank 3 Jan 19. I wonder how this will be interpreted when my extension is needed December.

guess you'll find out in December :/ no one can tell you what the immigration office will say. The rules spell it out without ANY ambiguity; 65K baht per month, each month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for and extension. :(

James Staub I have fluctuations as well. It takes two bank days for my transfer from DK to be available in my Kasikorn account. Because of weekends and/or holidays it can be anywhere from 2nd-7th day in a given month. I always transfer on the last banking day in the month from DK. That's normal. Even if you transfer some times to the beginning of a month and sometimes to the end of a month, it doesn't matter, as long as each and every month has a deposit that lives up to requirements.

sometimes it can be a few days late just because Bangkok bank doesn't post it for approx. 4 days after it's sent..need to consider delay's in Thai banking system.

@James ******
just because you mention partial month. It shouldn't matter when in a month the money comes in. It doesn't have to be on the same date each time. As long as the money is in the account before the month ends it should be fine.

unfortunately
@Ja***
the rules spell it out that you must transfer in a minimum of 65K baht each month every month for the preceding 12 months before you apply for your yearly extension.

It's not written as an average of 65K a month it's written as a minimum of it :(

Understand the variation in dates due to week ends or holidays, but what if someone was to transfer funds on say May 25th & June 1st, this is by calendar a different month, but for immigration purposes is it a different month ?

Martin Normanton > does the transfer date have to be the same date every month OR does the bank statement just need to show 'different month' for the international transfer ?

show 'different month', because the same date is technically not possible, just by fact banks not working on holidays. Let's say you transfer amount on every 1st of every month, this month your trasfer will arrive only 4-5, but next month it will arrive on 2-3, because in June 1-2-3 is a weekend + Public Holiday.

Tod Daniels in response to your comment, for visas with financial requirements e.g. Monthly deposits for O / OA extensions, does the transfer date have to be the same date every month OR does the bank statement just need to show 'different month' for the international transfer ?

(I am thinking in view of fluctuations in the current exchange market)

According to the letter of the way the rule is written, yes it does. :/

BUT you'd have to ask at your immigration office to really know.

James Staub. Were those two payments within the same month?
