TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are vaccinated, you typically do not need a Covid test to enter Thailand, but you will need to apply for a Thailand Pass and provide vaccination records and proof of health insurance. Additionally, it is important to check with Japan Airlines regarding any policies related to layovers in Japan.

For entry in to Thailand Brandon is correct. However you may need to check with the airline for their policy or layover status in Japan. I do not know if there could be an issue there.

Travelers who are not entering Japan and transferring directly to a third country by transit, are not required to submit any documents and undergo PCR tests.

If you are vaccinated, you don't need a Covid test. But you still need to submit an application for a Thailand Pass along with your vaccination records and $10,000 insurance
