Are ATM cards in Thailand affected by recent issues with online banking apps?

No,it's not wrong.Maybe you don't read info from your bank/s. One reason for closing an account is "fraudulent or illegal activities". Thats what actually started the suspension mess at Bangkok Bank.There were loads of pre-registered sim-cards which is not alliwed.Then there's mismatched names,and not updated passport numbers when renewing passports. KBank about a month ago warned account holders that if they didn't update their personal info before a certain date,their accounts would be suspended and in the worst case closed. This morning I received an email from Bangkok Bank with a pdf-file showing the latest T&C's,which included official terms regarding phone-numbers.They are updating T&C like 2-3 times a year. Boring as hell to read. I just scroll down to the most important parts,then I delete the email.

omg, in your own post you asked if it was for only mobile app. I answered the queation. If your not registered they can suspend your acct and that would affect your atm. Read what you posted and clearly gave you screen shot of the law and it states not complying your account can be suspended. Done trying to explain. You have the facts in clear black in white. it's true. Beginning of the year most banks sent letter out that banks where ordered by the government to verify phone numbers to accts. And they can close o freeze acct. I had to go in regisistwe my new phone number for switching carriers. Its the law. Try reading bangkok post. It clearly told the situation
