Has anyone done a same-day border run in the last day or two?

I have a METV and I’m scheduled to go with Chiang Mai Border Run tomorrow, but they just notified me that their “collaborating immigration officer” won’t be on duty, so same-day re-entry isn’t guaranteed at the moment due to the unstable immigration rules.

I’m concerned because I’m not prepared for a 2-night stay, and my current extension is only valid until 11/26. Any recent experiences or advice would be really appreciated.

I would like to do a border run from Hua hin on budget and wanted to ask if anyone has an experience if I can do the run over Land (Malaysia or Laos) on 1-2 days with the visa history of entering in December 04 -> 30 day exemption -> extended stay for another 30 days mid December until Feburary 1st.

Would be very thankful because I am not really sure if it’s possible same-day or with one night in Laos with the new rule.
