Hanoi - does anyone knows what is their policy regarding translation of documents that are not in English/Thai ?

Does a self translation will work or they require a translation authorized by a notary?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Hanoi, self-translated documents may not be accepted by government agencies, as they typically require translations authorized by a notary.

You are dealing with a government agency of course self translation will be rejected.

that’s makes sense but I want to know if someone had experience without it. My friends had in other embassies and they did ok with self transition. Nowadays Sometimes they are asking for additional documents after you apply and to authorize them while I’m in Vietnam isn’t easy. It’s also substantial cost so I’m trying to understand if it’s mandatory or not

Anonymous participant only the Embassy you are applying to can answer but in my experience documents need to be translated and officially notified before they are accepted.
