What is the best order to tackle getting a long-term visa and settling in Thailand for an expat over 70?

I am at the very start of exploring getting a long term visa (maybe Elite for simplification). I was in Bangkok for three months recently to see if the “feel” is right. I am over 70. Will be going back for some 6 months in 2023. But I am not sure by which end to start tackling this plan. Should I first go on a TR visa and look at rental apartments to confirm a place to live ?Should first open a bank account ? When should I start the Elite visa process ? In short: what is the best order to do things, before, during, and after going to Thailand ? Thanks for any recommendations.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on the best approach for obtaining a long-term visa in Thailand, particularly the Elite Visa, while also considering the initial steps like renting an apartment and opening a bank account. They plan to visit Thailand for six months and want to know the optimal sequence of actions to take before, during, and after their trip.

We are not going to how to get retirement visa and extension post which is far from original post.

For detail about Elite or their procedure, the best is contact them directly. They are usually responsive and supportive.

It’s your decision,
@Hector *******
, which visa is better for you based on your OWN criteria that nobody in this group knows. I know someone, much older than you, who got Elite because of their support and benefit plan rather than retirement visa/extension.
