TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion reveals that there is no direct equivalent to Thailand's Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) in Vietnam. However, alternatives mentioned include various investor visas (DT1, DT2, DT3), a business visa, and an education visa. The conversation also notes that some individuals may opt for visa runs or enroll in short courses to maintain their stay.

You can get an education visa. I think it is only a year though.

ExcellentPanda5607 does the course need to be for the whole year? Or could it be just 6 months? If it's 6th months are they gonna give the visa form the start of the course or from whenever I mention on the application?

Anonymous participant It's the length that you pre-pay for. If you pay for a year course the visa will be for 1 year. If you pay for a 6 month course the visa will be for 6 months.

there's NO equivalent of the DTV visa in Vietnam. In fact Vietnam does not even offer a retirement visa.

sorry to break it to you James but I don't know the answer as I don't give a toss about Vietnam and their visas . This is a Thailand visa page not a Vietnam visa page so his question is irrelevant to the group .

Anonymous participant 988 The point is folks like you always make snarky comments implying posters are wasting other people’s time.

And yet you clearly have a lot of time to kill yourself. But you don’t want to help people. You want to put them down.
