For those doing Muay Thai, how many classes do you attend every 6 months? I think Muay Thai is a bit more than I bargained for as I have a chronic pain condition, cooking would have been a better option. I still want to do it, but I'm not sure how often I will attend based on my body.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the frequency of attending Muay Thai classes, especially for individuals with chronic pain conditions. Many contributors recommend attending 2-3 classes per week, adjusting based on personal body response and pain levels. Some suggest that training can be tailored by the gym to accommodate physical limitations, indicating that private lessons might also be a viable option. The community emphasizes the importance of pacing oneself while still engaging in the sport.

Take your time with it, I’ve seen many people come training with all sorts of physical conditions and prosper to a point they improve themselves mentally and physically. Good luck and always remember trying is good enough for those with complications and enjoy yourself 💪 👍🏻

My goal is always 2-3 per week. That will depend on my body. I am not looking to fight but maybe some soft power fights. I am 45 Army retired. Everything hurts 😭

I'm about the same 2-3 times a week. I'm 48 and did the Muay Thai option as a way to assist my recovery from ACL surgery. Had never done any form of martial arts before and was also sceptical if it was the right thing for me to do.

Explain to the gym what the issues are and they will tailor your training and help you become fitter. Private classes with the gym may also be an option if you feel uncomfortable with the group classes.
