Flying to Norway via Austria with Austrian Airlines from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. According to the Austrian Embassy home page, I do not need to have a negative PCR for transit in Austria as long as I am fully vaccinated. I Am still unsure if there is a requirement to show negative Covid-test at Suvarnabhumi before boarding the plane. I will take the mandatory PCR when landing in Norway, but I would pass on the test and save the 4000 TBH here in Bangkok if possible. If i need to take a test, would Rapid Antigen suffice?
TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling from Bangkok to Norway via Austria requires understanding the testing requirements at different stages. The Austrian Embassy confirms that if fully vaccinated, a negative PCR test is not needed for transit in Austria. However, uncertainty remains about requirements at Suvarnabhumi Airport before departure, particularly whether a negative test is needed for boarding. Additionally, there is a query about the acceptability of a Rapid Antigen test in lieu of PCR. It is advisable to check with the airline and Norwegian border control regarding their specific requirements.
