Planning to return to the Kingdom from the USA soon, but my retirement visa has long since expired. I intended to obtain a non-O 90-day visa from the Washington, DC Thai embassy, but they seem to require medical insurance now (in addition to COVID insurance) for that visa (also for O-A, O-X and STV). However, I can request a 60-day tourist visa that is extensible to 90 days, requiring only COVID insurance. If my 800,000 THB is appropriately seasoned in a personal Thai bank account, is there any reason why I can not apply for a non-O retirement visa in Thailand (Chiang Rai, specifically) halfway through my tourist visa? Thanks much.
