I highly suggest people going on visa runs to a thai consulate to take the time to look on the consulate's website and see what the holidays are for the consulate you're going to.

I did not do that. The Hong Kong consulate was closed for Chinese New Year. Delayed travel plans by 4 days. Ouch

It is International Woman Day and yes I read the same so I can confirm that the Vientiane's Thai Embassy is closed that day.Duncan *******
