I would appreciate anyone sharing their experience working with the THAI VISA CENTER to obtain a non-o visa. I am presently in Thailand on my 30 day tourist extension. I do not want to fly all the way back to my home country (USA), but would be happy to fly to any S.E. Asia location that has a Thai embassy that will allow me to apply for a non-o. Thank you for any thoughts you care to share.

ORIGINAL POSTERI would like to apply for the DTV without returning to the U.S. Does anyone have experience with consulates or embassies in Malaysia, Laos, or Cambodia? Success stories (or not) and details most welcome, thank you.
