TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the application process for the NON-O Retirement Visa based on bank funds and seeks clarification on the correct purpose of visit to select. Users suggest applying for a 90-day single entry and then a one-year extension in Thailand. There are discussions around changes to visa rules, particularly the unavailability of the multi-entry NON-O visa since October 2023, and insights about additional costs related to securing a visa from various locations, particularly New Zealand. It is advised that a re-entry permit is available for those who want to leave Thailand during their one-year extension approval process.

hi, I went onto youtube. there are some excellent videos on there.one walks you through every step of the online form. what coun try are you in. I am in NZ and they charge $800 at the embassy. apparently the dearest charge in the world.
David Romero be aware that they recently made changes to the Non-O wording so if the video is more than a few weeks old it might not be the current selections
That's a crazy amount of money for a 3 month visa. The advice for NZ people needs to be different. You might as well go on holiday to Vietnam (or somewhere similar) and apply from there to save a bit of money.
i have looked at that as well and I think it is possible and definately cheaper to apply. just putting together a possible intiniery for SE countries ov er 6 months 🙂 spent 4 months travelling Thailand last year and loved it.
Traceys Travels for the 1-year stay permit extension, you can buy a re-entry permit. Single or multiple. The choise is yours. With a multi re-entry permit bought for 3800 THB, you can exit and re-enter Thailand a many times as you wish, during the 1-year period of the extended stay permit
Nongnuch Kamdee ok , it's the 1 year extension you can pay 3800 for multi entry for the year. So the non o you enter and not leave until you have your 1 year extension approval.
Neale Patrick Thompson theoretically you could buy a re-entry permit for these 90 days stay permit you get stamped on entry. However, doesn't make much sense to leave Thailand before you haven't secured the one-year extension
Neale Patrick Thompson if you would want a multi entry Non-Imm Visa, this would be the 365-days multi entry Non-Imm-O/A Longstay Visa, which comes with a string of requirements
